Passion Combined With The Right Strategy Will Get Your Goals Like A Lightening Bolt But Focus On the Basics 1st & Be Careful Who You Listen To

Hello this is Tony Calabro Natural Bodybuilder and one of the many fans of Charles Poliquin. I like to think the biggest but I digress.
I remember when I was looking for the most effective eating, training and supplementation strategies in my late 20's and 30's, I was and still am obsessed with it all. Normal people go out with their mates while I spent hours reading all the different theories on Nutrition, Training and Supplementation.
But you know what I am going to sit you down look you straight in the eye and say " Now listen stop wasting your time looking for the best strategy to eat, to train and the latest fan dangle supplement instead focus on the basics and learn from the most successful! "
I wasted so much time looking for the perfect diet, training etc that I didn't focus on the basics and listen to the people who walk the walk not talk the talk.
If you want to be a millionaire do you ask your accountant who is making $50,000 a year for advice. Hell No You Ask A Millionaire!
If you want to be a NBA basketball player and you have the choice to learn from the local basketball jock or Micheal Jordan, you choose Micheal Jordan.
Logical right?
And the biggest joke are personal trainers that are out of shape or not as good as their clients. It boggles my mind
OK now stay with me the most successful strength and conditioning coach I know of is Charles Poliquin go to his website for bio. Yet there are 100's of so called experts who never list their clients saying that its for privacy reasons. What a load of .................
That's why this blog is dedicated to convey to people that all this knowledge you will read from this blog was learnt via Poliquin, my actual experience and successful mentors such as Skip LaCour, Anthony Robbins etc
So 2 vitals points focus on the basics and listen to successful people. When your ever confused how you should eat or train or supplement ask yourself what has the most successful person done not your buddy in the gym who is average and try it out on yourself you will save years of wasted time.
Stop looking for the perfect strategy and put the onus on yourself to do the basics. Are you eating 6 meals per day, are you taking a multi, are you missing workouts. These are the basics people until you get those down first then look for ways to go to higher levels.

Insulin Resistance vs Insulin Sensitivity - The key to how you should eat to be lean & healthy!

When you are Insulin Resistant you are more likely to store body fat when you eat carbohydrates than if you were Insulin Sensitive.
Basically the leaner you are the more sensitive you become which explains the saying that its easier for fat people to get fatter and lean people to get leaner.
A layman's explanation is that when a person is greater than 10% body fat for men or 14% body fat for women they can not store carbohydrates in muscle tissue as well as those who are leaner. The higher the body fat the worse the situation becomes. If we were to talk in terms of percentages a fat person (insulin resistant) would eat 100g of carbs and store 85% in fat cells, 10% in muscle cells and 5% is used by the liver but a lean individual (insulin sensitive) would take that same 100g and store 85% into muscle cells, 10% into fat cells and 5% into the liver.
This is a major reason why counting calories is not as important as the type of food you eat!
For example if you ate 100g of protein and 100g of sugar sure they both equate to 400calories of energy but how the body uses that energy is entirely different.
The counting calories way to life long leanness is moronic and doesn't work long term there is more to it than that! Something that dieticians still haven’t figured out is that different foods effect blood sugar and hormones such as insulin differently, this is a very important concept and explains why a "calorie is not a calorie" which nutritionists still claim that its a simple equation, just eat less than what you need and you will drop weight. What a load of bull.To get my Vicfit I have to provide diets high in carbohydrates to pass my qualification's so I can get my insurance but you know what only 25% of my clients take carbs as a major component of there diet the rest it would be disastrous for.But this is what the average nutritionist or personal trainer learns!

What Doctors and Nutritionists Don't Know Will Harm You

I am going to demystify eating for you with some logic...
Lets go back to the Paleolithic era of the caveman. The average caveman was 6ft 2inches or 188cms, 250lbs or 113kgs and muscular! So what happened? Well cavemen only ate things that were not processed.
This low fat crap that Doctors and Nutritionists promote has made us fat. It's also made millions of dollars for companies that make carbohydrate products staples such as Cornnflakes, Bread, Chips etc. Our genes have only changed about 0.004% in 10,000 years we were not made for Modern Carbs.
Only 25% of the clients in my BioSignature practice can have modern day carbs and even then I promote low GI/ GL. The remaining 75% do better with meat, nuts and vegetables with a occasional once per week cheat meal. They all report better energy and cognition throughout the day and, needless to say, people who find losing fat difficult all of a sudden find it easy to lose fat. What is also surprising to most is that you don't count calories. In fact in another article I'll explain why counting calories is an out dated concept.
Now let me clarify where I'm coming from...I have tried every diet known to man and my business' success is based on individualising eating according to a persons' genetics. BioSignature individualises your eating without expensive testing.
So how do you eat Paleolithic?
If it runs, swims, flies or its green then you can eat it!
I am on the Paleolithic Diet Year round and I am 7.5% body fat without doing cardio and I maintain it easily. I am never hungry and I don't count calories.
Oh, and for Christmas I never put on weight or fat. In fact I will probably get leaner! I will eat everything in site on Christmas day...especially being of Italian background.
I am somewhat carb intolerant and when I eat too many carbohydrates I store more readily as fat, though that is changing now because I am relatively lean.
That's the thing you need to work out...how carb sensitive you are... then design your diet. A BioSignature practitioner can do it in 5 mins just by measuring 2 sites.
Put simply if you have never seen your abs and you predominantly store fat on your love handles, back and abs there's a good chance you cannot handle carbs that well.
Now don't get me wrong, you can lose weight using a high carb diet, but you will have to count calories, starve yourself and do some sort of cardio or exercise.
There is the rare person that is designed for carbs where this advice does not apply. They are well suited to endurance activities due to their genetic tolerance for carbs, but this is rare. Again a BioSignature Practitioner can find it out in 5 mins and for the rest of your life you know exactly what to do. The beauty is you can change your tolerance for carbohydrates as you get leaner. Basically the leaner you get (generally below 9.9% bodyfat) the more carbs you can handle!
